Hot shot: Raducanu finds the sharpest of angles on the run in Seoul

Emma Raducanu has made a dazzling start to her Korea Open campaign, beating Magdalena Frech 6-2 6-2 in Seoul.

If the British No 1 was worried by a lack of match practice heading into the tournament, she showed no signs of it as she recorded her first victory since reaching the US Open second round last month.

Raducanu started brightly and, after breaking Frech in the opening game, never looked back. The world No 77 took the first set in 40 minutes and was equally dominant in the second.

A double break earned her a 3-0 lead and, after the Pole briefly rallied, Raducanu finished off the match in style with a backhand winner down the line.

The victory sets up a second-round clash with either Magda Linette or Caroline Garcia, who face each other later on Wednesday.
