Wind Center Fixes and Track Forecast

Alberto, the first named storm of the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season, continues to strengthen as it approaches the Gulf Coast. The latest wind center fixes show sustained winds of 45 mph (72 km/h) with gusts up to 60 mph (96 km/h). A westward shift in the storm's track has been observed, with Alberto now expected to make landfall along the central or eastern US Gulf Coast.

Residents along the Gulf Coast from Louisiana to Florida should closely monitor the storm's progress and be prepared for heavy rainfall and potential flooding.
